This is the Waubs Harbour take on a cigar malt, a whisky that traditionally is sherry-driven and is rich & robust to hold its own against a cigar. Port Royal is certainly that.
Matured in beautiful ex-Apera Sherry casks, finished in very rare 70 year old ex-Tawny Port casks from @liebichwein winery in the Barossa Valley.

“To hold up as a cigar malt, I’ve really aimed at big juicy fruit from the Apera, and you’ve got that in spades, especially at the front of the palate, but that Liebich wine’s big Tawny cask produces some of the best big juicy fruit, some of that rich sultana and the spices that come along with it.” - Head Distiller Rob.

3rd generation winemaker, Ron Liebich, has been making wine for nearly 60 years. “My grandfather started winemaking back in 1919 and these two barrels came from that era. The flavour is inherent in the wood, it’s not necessarily the wood you’re tasting in the fortified but the flavour of the barrel.” - Ron
