In case you missed it… March was another massive month at Waubs..

25 TONNES OF BARLEY DELIVERED:
We’ve just had over 25 tonnes of Tassie malted barley delivered, pumped straight up into our silo out the front of the Production Building.

We use only Tasmanian barley to make our whisky, sourced from farms around the state. Its naturally oily and rich flavour is essential to creating our distinct maritime Tasmanian flavour profile.

RENOVATIONS ARE CONTINUING..

Over the past couple of weeks, we’ve been renovating our Bond 3 barrel room, upgrading our barrel racking and installing new security doors to make way for some of our larger casks to be matured here.

With one of the best views in whole the distillery site, these casks will sit for many years maturing here, overlooking the ocean, breathing in and out that salty air.

BEN’S SOUTHEAST & EAST ASIA TRIP:

Ben has been in Southeast & East Asia over the past couple of weeks, sharing our whisky & chatting all things Waubs Harbour with some of Asia’s most renown whisky venues in Singapore, Kuala Lumpur, Bangkok, Hong Kong & Taiwan. A huge few weeks. 

WAUBS IN THE WILD:

This month, we’ve had many, many customers reaching out and sharing their love of our whisky and their reviews of our Limited Release Maritime Sherry whisky.

To quote Adam & the old boy from Mayne Drams..
“Very smooth for 52%. Notes of buttery fruits, apple, pear, salted caramel. That’s lovely. It’s got that sea feel about it. Very good whisky.”

In addition.. we’ve been hosting Distillery Tours & Guided Whisky Tastings each day from Monday - Saturday (book online here), continuing to distil & mature our maritime whisky on the edge of the ocean here in Bicheno, planning for some very exciting future whisky releases & events (more on that soon), posting out all of your online whisky orders & everything in between.
