An update on our custom cigar humidor for Waubs Harbour.

Things are certainly progressing with the building of our custom cigar humidor. Laurie, the Cooper who re-coopers our barrels on-site, has been quietly & meticulously working away this week with the main part of the box now complete.

“The main part of the box is made out of rare Brazilian Mahogany, laminated with French Oak staves and it’s been grain matched around the box. Now we’re making a plan for the lid. We’ve decided to go for a thinner, even rail all around the outside with a glass panel. Then we’re going to fit the hydrometer in the front, next to the lock.” - Lau

When we first set out to create our maritime take on a cigar malt, Tim approached @_l.schmeider_ with the idea of making a custom humidor for the distillery and he jumped at it. Since then, Tim, Rob & Laurie have been working together to refine their dream design.

“The humidor is shaping up so nicely. To watch Laurie and his craftsmanship, from concept to now seeing it come to life, is very cool. Something very special we’re creating here. I cannot wait to have this filled with cigars sitting alongside our new Port Royal whisky.” Tim
