TEAM WAUBS HARBOUR. We’re a small team of just 6 here in Tassie and no Waubs Harbour whisky would ever make its way into your hands (and mouths) without the vital part each of our team play.

Co-founder Tim Polmear, the brains behind the vision, with the foresight required to plan 5, 10, 15+ years into the future.

Co-founder & Head Distiller Rob Polmear (image 3) brings the whisky to life. He not only makes every drop of whisky from scratch (from the wert through to fermentation to double distillation) but uses his Masters in Science to experiment with flavour profiles through yeast cultivation and coastal peat smoking.

Once the whisky comes to maturation, I (Co-founder Bec Polmear - image 4) share stories of the whisky we make and why we do what we do. When you receive an email or see post on social media, it’s from me, from upstairs at the distillery in Bicheno.

Thomas Etges of Waubs Harbour Distillery
Thomas Etges (image 5) takes care of our venue & our guests. He ensures that every visitor who walks through our distillery door receives the royal treatment, whether a guest on a Distillery Tour, a Guided Tasting or to one of our events or someone popping in to grab a bottle. If you’ve been here, you’ve likely met Thomas and can attest to that. Thomas is also a big part of ensuring every bottle of Waubs Harbour whisky is hand-written, hand-labelled and hand-bottled with utmost care.

Joseph Bennett (image 6) hosts guests to our distillery and has become known for his in-depth knowledge and whisky methodology. He is also our hand-writing specialist and an integral part of hand-writing, hand-labelling and hand-bottling each bottle of Waubs Harbour.

Ben Cook (image 7) is the man on the ground who shares our whisky & our story with whisky lovers at venues all around Australia. If you’ve met Ben, you’ll know he’s a passionate person and a great bloke to share a whisky with.
