How we use the ocean in our distillery cooling system.

It’s a genius yet simple system using the ocean’s energy by repurposing salt water pipes from our building’s former life as an oyster hatchery.

These pipes were originally used to draw seawater into large fibreglass tanks, home to juvenile oyster spat.

Today, they draw cold ocean water up to our titanium heat exchanger, meeting warm water off our distilling equipment, using the energy from the cold ocean to cool the warm water, before being cycled back into the building to be used once again.
