Shipping InformationThe third edition of the Apera Cask Strength from our Preview Series began its life in 20L ex-Apera Sherry French Oak casks in Bond Room 3 at Waubs Harbour Distillery and was later finished in a 100L ex-Apera Sherry French Oak cask. Bottled at cask strength of 63% bringing a real intensity to the whisky.
Rob's tasting notes describe rich dried fruits, from sultanas to pear, fig and apricot, with a salted caramel and almond overlay, a dash of orange citrus and a buttery malt backbone. Think old gold. Just as bold as the last edition but with an additional citrus complexity. See full tasting notes below.

Rob's Tasting Notes
Nose
Lovely sweet spice/wood sugars with an almost muscatel overlay. A hint of salted caramel and weathered oak.
Palate
Dried fruits, from sultanas to pear, fig and apricot. A binding salted caramel and almond. Orange citrus notes to balance sweetness while oak adds complexity. Drinks very well at full strength. Add water to open it up, softens it but is still balanced.
Finish
Dried fruits to begin which give way to buttery malt with nutty, earthy oak notes. Lingering long after the first sip.
